Carl Wesbecker

Carl Wesbecker, age 89, of Sellersburg, Indiana, Passed away, Monday, March 16, 2026. He was born on March 9, 1937, to the late Geroge Wesbecker, and Carolyn Wesbecker, in Louisville, KY.

Carl grew up in New Albany and went to Our Lady of Providence High School. Although he never graduated, he achieved a lot in his life. He spent less than two years in the United States, Navy, where he was a Sea Bee. This is a construction battalion responsible for building bridges, barracks, and roads for the military. He was proud of his short time spent in the military. After Carl left the Navy, he made friends with Jerry Munich and became the first employee of Munich Welding. He worked for Munich welding for 40 years and ultimately retired at the age of 58. He was a dedicated member of St. John Paul the II Catholic Church for the deration of his adult life. 

At Home Carl loved working with his hands, working on projects around his house and property. He spent many hours building many things, including a pool, an A frame pool house, and a game room. In his later years he enjoyed watching the news and football on TV, going out to lunch with his sons, and riding around looking at the different construction going on in the area. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Graf, and JoAnn Throckmorton.

Carl is survived by his children, Dean Wesbecker and Dale Wesbecker; and sisters, Pauletta Miles and Carolyn Stewart.

Visitation will take place on Monday, March 23, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, and on Tuesday March the 24, 9:00am to 10:00am, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, Southern Indiana Chapel, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN, 47150. A mass will take place Tuesday March 24, 11:00am, at St. John Paul the II, Catholic Church, 2253 W St. Joe Rd, Sellersburg, IN, 47172. With burial to follow at St. Joe Hill Cemetery.
