Carl Eldon Seacat, 93, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020. Carl attended St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and loved farming, raising cattle, and being outside riding his lawnmower. Carl worked hard as a mechanic for many years at Underwood Motors and Craig Ford in New Albany. He retired from Jeff Boat and from the New Albany-Floyd County School Corp. after 26 years as a bus driver.
He was born on October 3, 1926 in Central Barren, Indiana to the late Clarence and Goldie (Voyles) Seacat. Along with his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his daughter, Daphne Seacat; son, Roger Timberlake; grandson, David A. Hood; and siblings, Quenton Seacat, Larcy Roll, Irene Barnes, and Helen Lofton.
Carl is survived by his loving companion of 20 plus years, Carol Dehn; her daughter, Terri Allen; his children, Sharon (Melvin) Seacat Hood, Eldon (Kathy) Seacat, Steve Seacat, Dave (Belinda) Seacat, Randall (Cindy) Seacat, and Russell Seacat; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mayme Howell.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Central Barren Cemetery in New Salisbury.
The family requests that contributions in Carl 's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
