Carl Edward Ester

Carl Edward Ester, 93, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. He was a 1942 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School in New Albany and proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Air Force. Carl retired after a career in law enforcement in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a member of Bellview Masonic Lodge #325, American Legion Post #204, and a lifetime member of the Silver Creek Conservation Club.

He was born on September 29, 1928, in Floyd County, Indiana, to Carl and Rose (Deuser) Ester. Carl is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Ester Boyd (Jim), Jennifer Hudelson (Corey), and Katy Ester; sister, Carolyn Ester; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Carl's wish was to be cremated. A reception of family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E. 8th Street, New Albany) with burial and military honors to follow at New Albany National Cemetery.
