Carl Albert Perkins, 83, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday morning, April 12, 2016. He was a United States Army veteran that proudly served his country during the Korean War. Carl retired from South Central Bell. He enjoyed gardening, as well as playing cards and spending Sundays by the pool.
He was born on April 22, 1932 in Bardo, Kentucky to the late Luther and Alene (Smithers) Perkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor (Potts) Perkins; and sisters, Claudine Wyrick (Luther) and Lynette White.
Carl is survived by his children, Karen Megraw (Keith), Karla Perkins, Albert Perkins (Louise); brother-in-law, Phillip Potts (Jackie); grandchildren, Kyle Megraw (Adair), Kela Megraw, Kody Megraw, Olivia Perkins, Keaton Roggenkamp (Caitlin), Audrey Perkins; great-grandchildren, Shyanne and Kam; nephew, David White; and companion, Bette Demumbrum.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Friday, April 15, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held at 9 AM Saturday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
