Candy (Shuping) Kelmel, 64, of Central, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021. Candy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, caring for animals, and bird watching.
She was born on December 20, 1956, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Raymond and Alene Shuping. Along with her parents, Candy is preceded in death by her daughter, Bonny Kelmel; sister, Sharon Lashley; and brother, Leonard Rhodes.
Candy is survived by her loving children, Sherry (Thomas) Skaggs, Stephanie (Bryan) Henderson, Joe (Tina) Kelmel, Jr., Aimee Kelmel, and Scarlett Kelmel; grandchildren, Layla, Brianna, Aubrianna, Cheridan, Alexandria, Charlie, Katrina, Farin, Tristan, Liam, Arowen, and Lucas; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Everleigh; and siblings, Stanley Rhodes and Willie Fess.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021, at the funeral home with burial to follow at the McGrady Creek Cemetery in Caneyville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Candy's memory be made to the Harrison County Animal Shelter.
