Calvin Douglas Tomlinson

Calvin Douglas Tomlinson, 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on March 3, 2025. A devoted father and beloved Papaw, Calvin's life was characterized by his unwavering love for his family and his dedication to serving the community as a heavy-duty truck driver for over 30 years.

Born on July 30, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Ralph and Myrtle (McIntosh) Tomlinson. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Douglas Tomlinson, mother, Myrtle Faye Tomlinson, and sister, Carol (Tony) Barrett.

Calvin leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever, including his children: Casey Dalton Tomlinson, Corey Daniel (Alyssa) Tomlinson, Aimee Lynne (Brian) Tomlinson-Meredith, and Lucas Allen Woodrow (Charlene) Tomlinson; his cherished grandchildren: Brooklynn Giles, Ethan Johnson, Brian Meredith, Jr., Sophia Greer, Collin Mulligan, Brianna Meredith, Patrick Meredith, Caleb Tomlinson, Calvin Meredith, Corey Tomlinson, Jr., and Ameilyah Gettridge; his sisters, Beth Tomlinson and Sandra Tomlinson; his first wife and mother of his children, Gail Nevitt; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Calvin had many interests that brought him joy, such as fishing, watching NASCAR, and wrestling, and he was known as a talented chef. With his warm personality, he had a gift for making friends and leaving a lasting impact on those he met throughout his life.

Visitation will be held from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 4:30 PM on the same day at the chapel.
