Calvin Lewis, Jr.

Calvin "Slick" Lewis, Jr., 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020.
He was born on October 15, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky to Calvin, Sr. and Lida (Denham) Lewis. He is preceded in death by his son Bobby R. Lewis; parents Calvin Sr. and Lida Lewis; brothers Howard, Everett and Leon Lewis; sisters Geneva and Ella Coffey.
Slick retired from American Air Filter, a fan of all sports especially those involving the Kentucky Wildcats. He loved to tell stories and was an avid jokester. He was also a 15 year member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 65 years Kathleen Lewis; daughter Penny L. ( Michael ) Bonanno; many nieces and nephews. Also close to his heart were Alex Wilson, Evan Wilson and Calvin Runion. A special thanks to Cathy Johnson, Edith Runion, Lisa Ralston, Tolman White, Tracy Postlewait for your love and help and to the Hospice Staff- Susan, Donna and Vanessa for their care, compassion and love.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
His funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
