Bryan Thomas Engle, 45, formerly of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026. He had called Washington state home for the past 17 years.
Born August 25, 1981, to Thomas and Shari (Spray) Engle, Bryan graduated from New Albany High School in 2000 and went on to earn a degree in Computer Graphics Technology, with honors, from Purdue University. His distinguished career took him to many places across the United States before he settled in Washington.
Bryan was truly one of a kind. He loved people, and people loved him. With his warm smile and charming sense of humor, he had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and included.
Whether it was riding bikes, camping out in the backyard, taking off on four-wheelers, or making their favorite breakfast, Bryan was right there with his boys, loving every minute of being a hands-on dad. He was a devoted father. His love for Rylan and Hudson was unwavering, and they were his proudest accomplishment.
He treasured the great outdoors, whether hiking, camping, or mountain biking, and he cherished the family farm and caring for its many animals. A natural tinkerer and amateur mechanic, Bryan loved to fix things. He repaired tractors, farm equipment, motorcycles, and four-wheelers, for himself and for anyone who needed a hand. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father who stayed close to his parents, his brother, his extended family, and his friends.
Bryan leaves behind his wife, Lauren; his sons, Rylan and Hudson; his parents, Tom and Shari Engle; his brother, Brent (Lindsay) Engle; his nephews, Charles and Chandler; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Melissa; his grandparents, Thurman and Iona Spray; and Charles and Maurice Engle.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in New Albany. A celebration of Bryan's life will follow at 2:00 p.m., and he will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Brave Way Home (Team Woods), 3907 Chapel View Lane, New Albany, IN 47150.
