Bruce Alan Nickerson

Bruce Alan Nickerson, age 65 of Louisville, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018. Originally born in LaPorte, IN, he grew up in New Carlisle, IN, and attended New Prairie High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Louisville, where he played football from 1971-1975. Bruce was also an active member of the University of Louisville L Club.

He was currently employed with CVS where he was a manager. He was formerly employed with Metro Parks, Thornton Oil Company and Murphy Oil Company. He was most proud of his service as a foster parent and his work with children in the community. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Unger Nickerson; and his brother, Dave Nickerson.

Bruce is survived by his loving sons, Brandon Nickerson (Michele) and Ryan Nickerson (Charlotte); father, Richard Nickerson; grandchildren, Tommy and Ashley Ferguson, and Reid and Connor Nickerson; great-grandchildren, Dallas and Dylan Ferguson; siblings, Ray Nickerson (Mary), Carla Pahs (Mark) and Brenda Pahs (Brian); ex-wife, Lee Ann Nickerson; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 3 – 5 pm on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of Bruce's life will follow at 5pm at the funeral home.
