Brian Scot Hazel

February 8, 1976 — June 27, 2024

Brian Scot Hazel, 48, passed away on June 27, 2024.  He graduated from Holy Cross High School and later joined the Marine Corp in 1994 to serve our country where he attended USMC engineering school at Camp LeJeune and met his future wife.  Brian and his wife established their LLC business as owner operators in the transportation industry with a total of 14 years of service.  Brian loved boating, making and writing music. He was also an enthusiast in fire arms training. Brian was an avid UK and Dallas Cowboy fan.  He wore his heart on his sleeve, was always helping others and never met a stranger.  

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce and Melvin "Bubber" Hazel and great-grandparents, Virginia and Frank Adams.

Brian leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 29 years Mee Hazel; children, Trevin (Codi) Hazel, Damian Hazel and Seth (Rachel) Hazel; grandchildren, Gwyn, Mason, Mia and Serenity; parents, Kim and Ray Sutherland; fur baby, Flash Lightening Hazel; siblings, Andy (Holly) Sutherland; niece, Ember; aunts and uncles, Paula and Jerry Dennis, Melva and Eddie Bowman, Pam and Gary Hazel, Kevin (Kim) Hazel, Holly and Monty Evans, Jo and Charles Sutherland and Lindy and Richard Sutherland; cousins, Jamie Dennis, Brent (Stacy) Dennis, Michael Bowman, Kellie Bowman, Karrie (Drew) Dodson, Jessica Rigor, Jeremy Hazel, Brittney (Kolton) Snead, Jordan (Brittney) Hazel and Chelly Armstrong; father and mother in-law, Cho and Chue Yang; sister-in-law, Maria (Bobby) Brown; brother-in-law, Bert (Andrea) Yang and nieces and nephew, Caleb, Sierra, Thalia, Aspyn, Asia and Avaya and a host of extended cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 4pm-8pm with a celebration of Brian's life beginning at 6pm.
