Brenda Jean Staples

Brenda Jean Staples, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025. Brenda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Mamaw. She was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed playing the slot machines as well. Brenda cherished her family and showed her love through hosting family gatherings and cooking for her loved ones. She had a special relationship with her honorary "sisters" Marilyn, Nancy (deceased), and Mary who became treasured family to her. Brenda will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on November 2, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Joseph and Wanda (Knott) Sparks. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Leo Sparks; mother, Wanda Davidson; and beloved fur baby, Rudy.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, James "Randy" Staples; daughter, Wendyjo Holeck; son, Paul Wayne (Nikki) Sacra; step-children, John Paul (Denise) Staples, Stephane (Jared) Staples-Goldman; grandchildren, Joshua (Melanie) Madison, Whitney Sacra, Cheyenne (Joshua) Madison, Randy Strassler, Alyssa Staples, Leah Staples, Garrett Staples; great-grandchildren, Brylin Druin, Marshall Madison; fur babies, Cooper, Miso; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will be at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel.
