Brenda Lancaster

Brenda Lancaster, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11 , 2024. Brenda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and granny, whose unwavering faith and dedication to her family touched the lives of many.  As a cherished member of St. Stephen Church, she expressed her deep devotion to the Lord and found purpose in her service to others. Brenda’s warm spirit will be profoundly missed by all who the privilege of knowing her. Born on April 9, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, Brenda was the daughter of Harold and Annette (Zellers) McClain. She is preceded in death by her father, Harold McClain; her mother, Annette Hunt; and her beloved daughter, Tammie Washington.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Henry Lancaster; her daughter, Stacey Smith; step-son Montez (Theresa) Simpson; step-daughter Nyata Spence; God daughter, Diane Dabney; and her adored grandchildren: Robert Coleman and Tyreson Lancaster. She is also survived by her precious great-grandchildren: Tyonna Lancaster, Ahvanti Bobo, Kassidy Coleman, Ariyah Coleman, and Kyran Coleman. Additionally, Brenda leaves behind her sisters, Yolanda Collins and Irma Rose, along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her loving memory.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Church, located at 1018 S. 15th Street. Following the visitation, a memorial service celebrating Brenda’s life will take place at 12:00 p.m. at the same location.
