Brenda Joyce Lewis

Brenda Joyce Lewis, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and Memaw to her beloved grandchildren. Brenda was strong, bold, courageous and had a fierce personality. She retired from Jefferson County Public Schools after dedicating several years of service to the maintenance department. Most importantly, Brenda cherished her family, especially her beautiful grandchildren, and the everlasting memories made with them. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Her memory lives on in her sons, Josh (Erica) Lewis and Brandon (Jenna) Lewis; her sister, Diane (Mike) Milburn; her brother, Bo (Karen) Baker; and her stepmother, Betty Baker. She also leaves behind the joy of her grandchildren, Kaleigh Yarber, Jacob Yarber, Jackson Lewis, Kynslee Lewis, and Millie Lewis, each of whom carries forward a treasured part of her life and love.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Baker; her mother, Lorrane Baker; her beloved daughter, Erica Lewis; and her partner, Bruce Higgins. Their memories remained part of Brenda’s story, and they are lovingly remembered alongside her.

A celebration of Brenda's life will be held at a later date.

Brenda’s life was rooted in family, and her passing leaves a lasting absence in the hearts of those who loved her. May her family find comfort in the memories they shared with her, and may her memory continue to be a blessing to all who knew her.
