With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Brayden David Maggard, a radiant light in the lives of all who knew him. Born on November 25, 2014, in Elizabethtown, KY, Brayden graced this world with a gentle spirit and an affectionate personality that could brighten any room. He peacefully left us on May 4, 2026, in Georgetown, IN, wrapped in the loving embrace of his cherished family.
Brayden was a young boy full of promise and joy, his innocence was matched by his kindness and sweet temper, qualities that endeared him deeply to family and friends alike. His love for spending time with those close to him, coupled with his passion for camping and listening to music, painted a picture of a life filled with warmth and simple joys.
He is remembered by his mother, Keri Maggard, and father, Nathan Maggard; his half-brothers, Chase Bright and Jackson Maggard, whose lives were forever touched by his presence. The circle of family extends to his grandmother, Kelly Barnes, grandfather Kevin Barnes and his devoted aunt and uncles: Kristy (Chris) Shields, Kyle (Kayla) Barnes, and Jacob (Melissa) Maggard. His cousins—Maddy Shields, Conner Shields, Kasen Barnes, Shane Cundiff, and Everett Cundiff—will carry forward the memory of his sweet spirit in their hearts.
A visitation to honor Brayden’s memory will be held on May 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. Following the visitation, a funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM that same day, offering a space for all who loved Brayden to come together, share memories, and find solace in their collective grief.
Though Brayden’s time with us was far too brief, his impact was undeniable. He embodied love, kindness, and a vibrant spirit that touched everyone he met. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the precious memories he leaves behind — a testament to a soul that shone brightly and will forever illuminate our hearts. Rest peacefully, dear Brayden, your legacy of love and light will never fade.
