Bonnie Jean (Brooker) Turney

Bonnie Jean Turney, 80, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019. She was born on April 27, 1939, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late Elmer Brooker, Sr., and Vella Combs Rose. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her Brother, Elmer Brooker, Jr.; and Sister, Pat Brooker.

Bonnie is survived by her Daughter, Lynn (Tim) Johnston; Son, Glenn (Vickie) Gaines, Jr.; Sister, Sherry (Roger) Pottlitzer; Grandson, Brandon Hoagland; Bonus Grandchildren, Chris and Alyssa Johnston; her Best Friend of 67 years, Penny Jackson; and her Cat, Toby.

Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her friends in her Pinochle and Bunco groups. She was an avid NASCAR fan. Bonnie had a gift for making everyone around her feel like they were her closest friend, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow in accordance with Bonnie's wishes.
