Bonnie Kaye Goodman, 68, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, April 26, 2025. A beacon of love and warmth, Kaye leaves behind a legacy that will forever touch the hearts of those who knew her.
Kaye was not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother but also a beloved sister and friend to many. With a passion for helping others, she dedicated her career to supporting special needs children at Gutermuth Elementary School and guiding struggling middle schoolers at Our Lady of Peace. Her compassionate spirit extended beyond her professional life; Kaye found joy in camping at Rough River Lake and volunteered her time with the Corps of Engineers. She also proudly coached a Special Olympics team, where her daughter, Jennifer, embraced the opportunity to compete.
Family was at the core of Kaye's existence. She cherished moments spent traveling to beautiful beaches and majestic mountains, creating lasting memories with her loved ones. A true caretaker at heart, Kaye’s selflessness and caring nature made a remarkable impact on everyone she encountered. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on June 21, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, Kaye was the cherished daughter of Carl and Edna (Brossart) Riley. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Goodman Jr., her son, James Edward Doyle Goodman, sister, Becky Smallwood; brothers-in-law, Mike Seibert, Bill DeAngelo; and sister-in-law, Rita Riley.
Kaye leaves behind a loving family, including daughters Rebecca (Dillard) Raymer and Jennifer Goodman, as well as step-daughter Tracey (Tim) DiMarco. Her grandchildren, Austyn (Xander) Raymer, Tristyn Raymer, James (Brandi) Goodman, Brittany (Chris) Cramer, and Autumn (Alexa) Hall-Skaggs, along with great-grandchildren James Mulder, Cameron Schiesser, Chase Schiesser, Kenslei Goodman, Lilyann Cramer, Abigail Cramer, Lukas Cramer, Mercer Hall-Skaggs, Annslei Hall-Skaggs, and "adopted" granddaughter Emma Robnett, will treasure the loving memories created with her. Kaye is also survived by her brothers William Riley, sisters Carol Seibert, Connie (Steve) Render, Judy DeAngelo, and a circle of extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.
Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy.
