Bobby Keith Ramsey passed away on September 4, 2024 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on August 29, 1943 in Lebanon, Tennessee to Frank and Nannie Kathryn Ramsey. Bobby lived a life dedicated to service and hard work, exemplified by his commitment as a truck driver with Roadway Express and a member of the Teamsters Union for 45 years, where he helped connect communities across the country. He was also the proud owner of Bob's Gunsmith Shop. Bobby also proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he developed a strong sense of duty that characterized his life both in and out of the military. His love for his country and fellow citizens was evident in everything he did.
He leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Lora Ramsey, Jennifer Risen (Chris), and Amanda Mester; his grandchildren, Morgan Crews, Tyler Price, Mia Price, Zachary Price, Tristan Risen, Brittany Mason, Codey Priddy, Danielle Ramsey, Michael Ramsey, Jr., and Joshua Ramsey; and his great-grandson, Mason Crews. Each of them carries forward the lessons, love, and laughter that Bobby imparted throughout his life.
Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Lee Ramsey; son, Michael Ramsey, along with his parents, Frank and Nannie Kathryn Ramsey, and siblings, James Ramsey, Mary Ramsey, and Steve Ramsey. Their memories and influence deeply shaped who he was, and they will forever be remembered as part of his remarkable life story.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY, on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the same location on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 11:00 am, concluding with interment with military honors at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, KY.
