Bobby Rex Payne

Bobby Rex Payne, age 86, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017. Born April 5, 1931 in Simpson County, Kentucky, Bobby was an Army Veteran of 26 years and former Civil Service employee for over 28 years. Bobby was also an active Mason and Shriner. He was also a former President of the Huntsville, Alabama NARFE chapter and a Kentucky Colonel. He was also a member of the Kentucky Humane Society. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Lillie Mae Rather Payne; and his siblings, Francis Pappas, Opal Bennett and Mayzelle Holman.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Erika T. Payne; his children, Denise Walton, Chandra Stamps, Tom Payne (Lisa) and Tanya L. D'Agostino; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 3-8pm Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of Bobby's life will be 11am Friday, September 15th with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
