Bobby Earnest

Bobby Earnest, a beloved husband, father, and papaw passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on April 30, 2026. He was born on May 16, 1936, in Welch, West Virginia, to his late parents, Jess and Ainer Earnest.

Bobby enjoyed a simple life and set the standard for a hard working family man. He loved his family and was always a pillar of strength for them. Bobby was a U.S. Army veteran and also had a long career as a Ford Motor Company employee, retiring in 1996.

Bobby enjoyed boating, camping, and fishing with his family. His granddaughter Kaci was his favorite cohort for outdoor adventures and travelling. He enjoyed summer vacations in Florida, attending NASCAR races, and cheering on University of Louisville basketball. He took pride in his 1965 Ford Mustang convertible which he carefully restored and took to car shows.

He will be deeply missed by wife, Shelby; daughter, Kristi McDaniel (Greg); and granddaughter, Kaci. Bobby is also survived by his sister, Martha (John); and two nephews, Greg and Kirk; and a host of relatives and friends.
