Bobbie Jean Deaton, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Bobbie was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, lovingly known as Grandma Bobbie to her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a superior work ethic that allowed her to provide for her family and had a wicked sense of humor. An equestrian and lover of animals, Bobbie raised many cats over the years who were treated better than humans. An excellent cook, she made a delicious meatloaf loved by her family and also enjoyed a good Tom Collins. Bobbie was Stephen King and Dean Koontz's most devoted fan. Bobbie was on the drum line in high school and once flew a plane as a "one-time pilot". Late night 2 a.m. shopping was a consistent hobby of hers. Most importantly, Bobbie had a heart of gold and always put everyone's needs before her own. Her family was her most cherished asset and she loved making everlasting memories with them. Bobbie will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was born on November 7, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky to Robert and Lillian (Cravens) Jones. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert G. Jones; mother, Lillian Louise Jones; and beloved grandson, Damon Ray.
Bobbie is survived by her loving family, daughters, Cheryl Bennett, Conni (Rat) Taylor, Dannielle (Danny) Ray, Michelle Barrett; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; 6 cats; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
The family requests that contributions in Bobbie’s memory be made to the Kentucky Humane Society or to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, to assist with final expenses.
