Billy James "Bimbo" Parrish, passed away on December 31, 2025, in Pekin, Indiana, at the age of 71. Born on January 15, 1954, in New Albany, Indiana, Billy led a life rich in experiences and devoted to both his profession and his passions.
For over fifty years, Billy worked as a dedicated truck driver, navigating the open roads with precision and care. His commitment to his career exemplified his strong work ethic and reliability, traits that endeared him to friends and colleagues alike. In addition to his professional life, Billy proudly served his country as an Army veteran, demonstrating courage and commitment during his time of service.
Billy was known for his good sense of humor, a gift that allowed him to brighten any room he entered and bring smiles to the faces of those around him. This infectious spirit was mirrored in his hobbies and interests. He had a deep love for fishing, finding peace in the quiet moments spent by the water. He also had a passion for classic cars, investing time in fixing up older models and showcasing them at car shows, where he would share stories and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
A devoted NASCAR fan, Billy enjoyed attending races, where the excitement of the sport captured his heart. He cherished trips to Florida, relishing the opportunity to relax in the sun and enjoy the beauty of the coastline. His vibrant personality and zest for life will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Parrish; grandmother, Agnes Mangum and aunt, Mary Frances McWhorter.
Billy leaves behind his sisters, Charlene Coulter and Darlene Sexton and his partner, Brenda Meek.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. The visitation is scheduled from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a service beginning at 3pm.
