Billy Blake, Sr.

With deep sorrow and hearts full of gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Billy Blake, Sr. on August 17, 2026. Born on February 24, 1955, Billy’s journey through life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, service to his country, and a boundless ability to bring light and laughter to those around him.

Billy’s presence was a blessing to many, most profoundly cherished by his wife of 31 years, Cindy Blake. Together they built a home filled with warmth, steadfast love, and unwavering support. Billy is survived by his children, Scott Blake, Billy (CeCe) Blake Jr., Robin (Johnny) Blake, and Leann (Dave) Cape; grandson, Michael Blake; siblings, Freddy Blake, David (Markeeta) Blake, and Michael (Sharon) Blake and his friend Ron Cape. 

Billy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clyde and Jimmie Blake, his sister Carolyn Blake, and brothers Richard Blake and Joe Wyatt.

What truly set Billy apart was his extraordinary gift for making others smile. Whether sharing a story, offering a word of encouragement, or lighting up a room with his infectious laughter. 

A visitation in Billy’s memory will be held on Thursday, August 27th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at the same location. Graveside services will take place at 2:30 PM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, 2501 North Dixie Boulevard, Fort Knox, KY 40121, where Billy will be laid to rest with the honors befitting his service.

Though his passing leaves a profound ache, Billy Blake’s spirit endures in the laughter he stirred, the love he gave.
