Billie Sharon Reed, a cherished pillar of her family and community, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana, with her devoted family by her side. Born on November 16, 1946, in Corydon, Indiana, Billie’s life was marked by her boundless love and unwavering dedication to those around her.

Billie was a proud graduate of New Albany High School, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with compassion and service. For many years, she worked as a housekeeper for Baptist Health Floyd Hospital, often going beyond her duties to care for patients and their families with kindness and understanding. Her compassionate spirit earned her respect and affection from all who knew her.

Known for being a loyal wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, sister, and friend, Billie’s warmth touched the hearts of many. She found joy in simple pleasures, from spending time with family to her favorite pastime of playing Bingo. Her love for her pets was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and she dedicated herself to raising her children with unwavering support and affection.

Throughout her life, Billie watched her family grow and thrive, a proud accomplishment that filled her heart with joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love and unity, embodied by her daughter, Stephanie (Robbie) Griffin; her sons, Todd (Tina) Rainbolt and Jeff Reed;  her grandchildren, Bradley (Rose) Reed, Shelby (Gerardo) Trejo, Jeromy (Torie) Kent, Brooke Reed, Anthony Rainbolt, Scott Reed, Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Dylan Cozart, Deven Hackney, Aubree Kent, Addie Kent, E'layzia Douglass, E'layna Douglass, Gabe Trejo, Liam Trejo, Natalie Trejo, Liam Armstrong, Trintadi Faulkenburg, and Landon Eads; great-great-grandchildren Peighton Cozart, Kaelynn Cozart, and Oaklynn Cooley, and many loving friends and family.

Billie also cherished the bond she shared with her siblings: sister Becky (Roger) Hefler, brother Mark Self, and brother Steven Self. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who held her close to their hearts.

Billie is now reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Charles Reed; her son, Scott Reed; her granddaughter, Brandee Douglass; her grandson, Ricky Bennett; her mother, Mary K Lee; her father, Ralph Self; and her siblings, Michael Self, Patty Jordan, and Timmy Self. Together, they await a joyful reunion in the warmth of eternal love.

All who knew Billie will remember her gentle nature and the light she brought into their lives. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind.

Visitation for Billie Sharon Reed will be held on February 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at noon at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN
