Beverly Caulene Willis

Beverly Caulene Willis, 57, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017. She was the first female Athlete of the Year at New Albany High School, where she participated in tennis, basketball, and volleyball. Beverly's favorite hobby was cooking.

She was born on April 8, 1960, in Okaloosa County, Florida, to Betty (Byrd) Abney and the late Bernard Willis. Beverly was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Billy Abney.

Along with her mother, Beverly is survived by her brothers, Lewis Willis and Randy Willis; step-siblings, Steve Abney (Valerie) and Karla Hornbeck (David); nephew, Kristopher Willis; and many good friends.

Cremation was chosen following Beverly's wishes. A reception of family and friends will be on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Memorial Service taking place at 6:00 p.m.

The family requests that contributions in Beverly's memory be made to the New Albany High School Girl's Tennis Team (1020 Vincennes Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
