Beverly Ann Van Horn, a cherished soul, was born on October 14, 1942, and departed this life on June 12, 2025. For over 30 years, Beverly dedicated herself to managing Millgate Apartments, where her warm smile and kindness made a lasting impact on those she encountered. She was more than just a manager; she was a friend, confidant, and a source of joy to all who crossed her path.
Beyond her professional achievements, Beverly was most proud of her family. She spoke of her family with immense love. She treasured time spent with her loved ones, especially her great-grandchildren. Beverly thrived on the connections she built with others. Her compassion for animals further highlighted her caring nature and endless capacity for love.
She relished her "Girls Day Out", where shopping became an adventure and laughter filled the air, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. She found immense joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo or Bunco, going to the movie theater, a trip to the beauty salon, and an iced sweet tea or Coca-Cola.
In her final years, her witty humor never failed to brighten the day. Friends and family alike would attest to her ability to keep everyone laughing. She had a remarkable gift for putting smiles on the faces of those around her.
As we bid farewell to Beverly, let us carry forth the warmth of her memory, paying tribute to a woman whose laughter, kindness, and love for others will forever resonate in our hearts.
Her journey may have come to an end, but her spirit will live on in the stories shared and the love she so generously gave.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Norma Hickey; husbands, Kenneth H. Easley and Stanley Philip Van Horn; siblings, Robert Hickey, Gary Hickey, Lisa Hickey, Barbara Hickey and Joan Benningfield.
Beverly leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Theresa (Keith) Sumner and John Cole; grandchildren, Rain (Justin) Wells and Joe (Kendyl) Sumner; great-grandchildren, Sumner Wells, Sutton Wells, Crew Sumner and Cash Sumner; siblings, Janice (David) Kapple, Susie (Dave) Yates, Jeanne (John) Giberson, Michael (Robin) Hickey and Harry (Lisa) Hickey; god sons, Kevin Hickey and Shaun Giberson, Sr. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, June 23, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Beverly’s life beginning at 1pm.
Beverly will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens, 279 Landis Lane, Mt. Washington, KY, 40047.
