Beuford Maggard

Beuford Maggard, a quiet and hardworking man, passed away on May 11, 2025. Born on March 17, 1942, in Raysal, West Virginia, Beuford devoted his life to supporting his family, embodying a steadfast dedication to hard work.

Throughout his life, Beuford was known for his reserved demeanor, often found enjoying the soothing sounds of bluegrass music. He was a man who spoke with actions rather than words, always striving to provide for those he held dear.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his children, Keith (Pam) Maggard, Theresa (John) Schmelz, and Timothy (Toni) Maggard. Beuford cherished his role as a grandfather to Katie (Aaron) Markowitz, Brian Maggard, Matthew (Mary) Maggard, Shelby (Branden) Ragains, Scott (Lyndsey) Maggard, Joseph (Jessica) Maggard, Jennifer Brown, and Megan Stump. His legacy continues with his great-grandchildren, Zoe, Anya, Zachary, Ayla, Joelle, Emery, Margo, Raegan, Andrew, Kennedy, Rya, Brian, and Logan, who will always remember his gentle spirit and the love that surrounded them. Beuford was also survived by his brothers, Jonathan Maggard and Lawrence (Charolette) Maggard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Maggard and Virgie Cantrell Maggard; his beloved wife, Doris Maggard; and several siblings, including Paul, Thurman, Lois, Ralph, Delbert Jr., Jesse Carl "JC," and Rufus Maggard.

As the family remembers Beuford, they will hold dear the values he instilled in them: hard work, love, and the quiet strength of a life well-lived. His presence, though now silent, will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Beuford's wishes.
