Betty Lou (Rexroat) Webb, 81, recently of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Betty was a life-long resident of Salem, Indiana, until her illness prevented her from staying at home. Betty was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in her youth and was baptized in Christ later in life. She worked at the old Dairy Castle and made the best milkshakes and food. She then worked at Smith Cabinet/Childcraft making furniture for over 36 years. Betty loved her family with all her heart and loved cooking for them and having holidays at her house, full of all her family. She loved spoiling the grandchildren and great-children. Betty was a wonderful cook, and she loved when the whole family was together, joking and laughing, and the fun she shared with them on picnics and boating trips to Patoka Lake. She loved her family and friends so much that she didn't want them to mourn her with a Memorial Service. Her wish was that everyone remember her with few tears and as much laughter as possible and that they continue on with their lives. Betty wanted everyone to know that she will see us all again someday in heaven.
She was born on January 20, 1940, in Salem, Indiana, to the late Robert and Genevieve (Smedley) Rexroat. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Webb; sons, Charles "Eddie" Webb and Scotty "Joe" Webb; brothers, Carl and Charles Rexroat; sisters, Roberta "Bobbie" (Rexroat) Collins and Terri Lynn Rexroat; and grandchild, Jade Michelle Baldridge.
Betty is survived by her children, Terry Webb of Salem, Indiana, Sherie (Greg) Barker of Gray, Tennessee, Brenda (Mury) Cunningham of Borden, Indiana, and Linda (Ranney) Tucker of Santa Claus, Indiana; stepsons, Mikel (Debra) Webb of Somerset, Kentucky, and Maurice Webb of Kentucky; grandchildren, Amber Searcy, Chad (Tanya) Webb, Christy (Jason) Byrum, Terra (Brant) Bartron, Scotty Joe Webb, Jr., Aaron Barker, Marisha Jackson, Michelle (Robert "Josh") Sanders, Garrell "Wayne" Carothers, Travis Carothers, Ben Webb, Hilary (Abel) Logan, Jody (Barry) Phelps, and Nicky (Rodney) Edwards; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
