Betty Tyler

Betty Tyler, of Louisville, Ky. passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Dec 28, 2015 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, in Sarasota, Fl. She retired from Phillip Morris after 30 years of service as a Quality Control Supervisor.

Betty was born in Whitesville, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Malinda (Edge) Ralph. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George R. Tyler and her brothers and sister; Ben Ralph, Carl Ralph, Joe Ralph, and Irene Ralph Turner.

Betty is survived by her daughter Vicki Donegan-Reynolds, brother, Lee Ralph,sister, Dodie Harmon, and grandchildren Brian Donegan, Shelly Donegan McAvoy, and Tyler Reynolds.

Betty loved dancing and never missed one while living at Alderman Oaks where she was voted best dancer. She also loved sports, especially The Kentucky Wildcats basketball, The Florida Gators, and The Tampa Bay Rays. In her earlier days she would play golf and waterski on Lake Cumberland and Nolin Lake (only one ski needed), and fish off her houseboat. Playing cards with her sisters and closest friends while telling jokes was one of her favorite pastimes. She was considered a surrogate mom to her grandchildren, whom she deeply cherished. She always made others a priority, putting their needs before her own. She will truly be missed by all who loved her.

Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Monday, Jan 4, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville).

Funeral Ceremonies will be held Tuesday, Jan 5, 2016 at 10:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home.
