Betty Lorene (Mull) Smith

Betty Lorene (Mull) Smith, 86, of Salem, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. She enjoyed being a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Florida, the Loyal Order of Moose in Sellersburg, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion, both in Salem. Betty was a very hard worker up until the age of 85. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and was a faithful member of Daisy Hill United Methodist Church for 75 years. Betty last attended Borden Community Church.

She was born on March 9, 1932, in Villa Grove, Illinois, to the late Jonas W. and Alda I. (Feeler) Mull. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, John "Joe" Banks; second husband, Halbert "Smitty" Smith; daughters, Juanita Graham and Annette Conrad; sisters, Alice Terrel, Mary Davis, and Francis Taylor; and her 2 grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her sons, Steve Broady (Joyce) and Roger Banks (Diane); brother, Amos Mull (Pauline); 9 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery in Sellersburg.
