Betty Lou Shuck, 78 of Louisville, formerly of Pleasureville, KY, passed away on April 20, 2021.
Betty Lou Walters Smith Shuck was born February 3, 1943 to the union of Elmer Walters and Ada Wilkerson Walters in Munfordville Kentucky. She made her transition to be with the Lord at Lyndon Lane Nursing facility on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
She received her education at Hart County Schools. After graduation, she attended business school, taking secretarial courses. She also attended Aenon Bible College.
Betty married Fred Smith, to that union one son, William Stanley Smith was born.
She was employed many years as a legal assistant for an attorney in Munfordville. After moving to Louisville, she served as Assistant Administrator at a senior care home operated by the First Apostolic Council of Kentucky and Tennessee.
Betty loved the Lord, was a praying woman, would often talk about Jesus and the things HE had done. She was baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost in 1972 at Greater Bethel Temple Apostolic Church, located at Clay and Breckinridge, under the pastorate of Bishop David T. Schultz. She was active in the choir and the missionary department, visiting the sick and assisting seniors in their homes.
Betty married Oldham Clay Shuck of Pleasureville, Kentucky in 1985. She moved her membership to Calvary Temple Apostolic church in New Castle. Ky. Betty learned to adjust to farm life, assisting her husband with the livestock and planting of crops. She loved animals, especially her pet poodle. In 2018, she relocated to Louisville, to be near her ailing husband. While in Louisville, she attended Newburg Apostolic Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Clay, parents, one sister and two brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, William Stanley Smith of California, a step-son, Eddie Shuck, grandchildren, Steven Matthew, and Shannon, two brothers, Thomas Walters, of California, and Robert Lamb, one sister, Patty Wilson, and Paula Ladd McClellon who Betty affectionately called "her adopted daughter' who handled her affairs.
We will miss Betty, she was truly a unique person, one of a kind.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243). The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
