Betty Ann (Toth) Rowe, 85, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. She worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. Betty lived on Dupont Circle and traveled the District riding streetcars. In Washington, she met Marvin while he was assigned to the 1254th Air Transport Group – Special Missions. Betty would endure his Air Force flying career that included a tour in South Vietnam. They were married for almost 57 years. She was most fond of the years spent in Washington and was proud of the lifetime friendships she formed at the bureau. Betty lived in New Albany for more than 46 years and retired from the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library.
She was born on May 21, 1933, in Landville, West Virginia, to the late Carl and Rosa (Sesco) Toth. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; and brothers, Carl, Robert, John, and Jack.
Betty is survived by children, Barbara (Tommy) and Freddie; brother, William (Violet); and sisters, Pat (Paul), Mary, and Thelma.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 10:00 a.m. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.
