Betty Jean Pierce

Betty Jean Pierce, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on September 12, 2026. Born on April 9, 1941, in Coral Ridge, Kentucky, to Roy and Adrine (Stephens) Hester, she was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Betty had a deep love for fishing and cherished her time on the boat at Barren River. Family gatherings were of utmost importance to her, and she brought joy to those around her with her generous spirit. An avid horse lover, she owned two Tennessee Walkers.

Having worked since the age of 15, Betty retired from GE after over 30 plus years of dedicated service. Her selflessness and caring nature were evident to all who knew her. She is remembered fondly by her siblings, Jimmy (Susie) Hester, Steve (Vonnie) Hester, Patricia (Bernie) Coons, step-son Steve (Melanie) Pierce, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Hershel Pierce, and siblings Wanda Montgomery and Cindy Kinberger. Betty will be dearly missed by everyone she touched.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm. Interment will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky, on September 21, 2026, at 10:30 am.
