Betty Louise (Hankla) Carter Clark, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, July 28, 2016. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was born on January 4, 1925, in Fort Snelling, Minnesota, to the late James and Mary (Straw) Hankla. Betty was also preceded in death by her husbands, Elvin Carter and Herman Clark. Betty is survived by her sons, John Carter, Sr. (Vonda), Ronald Carter (Bonnie), and Donald Carter (Laquita); brother, James Hankla (Jorene); 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association (161 St. Matthews Avenue, Suite 3, Louisville, Kentucky 40207) or the Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
