Betty Lou Jackson, a beloved wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, in Pekin, Indiana. Born on October 21, 1941, in Borden, Indiana, Betty Lou lived a life full of care, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and those she held dear.

Educated at Pekin High School, Betty Lou embraced the role of homemaker with grace and dedication, ensuring that her family always had what they needed. She found her greatest joy in nurturing the home and creating a loving environment where her loved ones could flourish. Watching her family grow and thrive was among her proudest accomplishments, a testament to her enduring love and commitment.

Betty Lou’s spirit was vibrant and generous. She made each family celebration special with her warmth and joy. In her earlier years, Betty found peace and satisfaction in tending her garden, lovingly caring for her mums and a vibrant array of flowers. Her inquisitive mind enjoyed the challenges of crossword puzzles and seek-and-find games, and she often passed quiet moments with solitaire. She also had a special fondness for exploring flea markets and yard sales, treasures waiting to be discovered.

A treasured memory for Betty Lou was traveling across America with her family, visiting spots like Gatlinburg, Branson, and Pennsylvania—moments filled with laughter, wonder, and togetherness. Above all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren, whose presence brought her immense joy and pride.

Betty Lou is survived by her loving daughter, Tonya (Joseph) Harper; and treasured grandchildren, Quinton (Stephanie) Jackson, Dalton (Zoey) Harper, Romen Harper, Decia Harper, and Finn Harper. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Carla Jackson, brother Keith Tharp, sisters-in-law, Marsha Tharp, Jeanie Haynes (CC), Jan Jones (Alcova) all who shared in her journey with fondness and affection.

Though her loving husband, Frank Edward Jackson, Jr., along with her mother, Ann Tharp, father, John Tharp, son, Troy (Carla) Jackson, and brother, John A. (Marsha) Tharp have preceded her in death, Betty Lou’s spirit lives on powerfully in the hearts of all who knew her.
