Betty Jo O'Neal, 74, passed away on December 8, 2014. She retired as a judicial secretary for the Jefferson County Circuit Court. She always loved to read a good novel and her favorite television show was NCIS. She was a faithful prayer warrior, loving friend and a devoted mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Agnes Jones; brother, Joseph Leon Jones, Jr. and niece, Brenda Shawler.
She is survived by her children, Louis (Jennifer) O'Neal; daughter, Janet O'Neal; sister, Doris (Marvin) Corum; numerous, nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014, from 3pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of life for Betty Jo will be Thursday, December 11, 2014, at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home.
