Betty “Nanaw” Jean Ray, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Sunday September 22nd, 2024. She was born July 14th, 1931, to the late Dewey and Virginia Meadors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul “Toby” Ray and beloved son Paul “Ricky” Ray, as well as, two sisters, a brother, and many family members whom she loved deeply. She was a member of Shively Christian Church. She loved the Lord and was ready to praise Him with her loved ones in heaven.
She is survived by her loving daughter; Debbie (Doug) Gunning, and daughter-in-law, Karen Ray. She spent her life doing what she enjoyed the most up until she was called home, like watching her great-grandchildren play sports, attending family events and Bible study, playing cards, watching University of Kentucky sports, listening to gospel hymns and looking up jokes to tell her grandchildren.
She truly loved spending time with her grandchildren, John (Amber) Ray; Amanda (Wesley) Barbour and Brad Gunning. Great-Grandchildren; Michael, Ava, Zachary, Ryder, Gunner, and Riley. Along with her bonus great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Collin, Cameron, Quan, Ant, and Maggie; and her bonus great-great granddaughter Lilith.
She was loved by a large family and host of friends who will remember her for her gracious love, witty comebacks, and ability to tell you the truth no matter the situation!
