Betty Louise (Jenney) Denton, 96, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She was a member and former volunteer of the American Red Cross and proudly served for 53 years. Betty was known for her sense of humor, making homemade candy and cookies, reading, doing word puzzles, and "aggravating" her family members who were her biggest joy in life.
She was born on July 15, 1925, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Charles and Dora (Enteman) Jenney. Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Denton, Sr.; son, William E. "Bill" Denton, Jr.; siblings, Juanita Goyne, Marjorie Colvin, Melton Jenney, Charles Jenney, Sharon Toler, and infant brother Orville Lee Jenney.
Betty is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Denton; grandchildren, Aaron (Carrie) Denton and Travis Denton; great-grandchildren, Jordan Denton, Hannah Denton, and Caleb Denton; brother, John Jenney; and extended family members, including her caregivers and nieces, Debbie (Phil) Andres, Dana (Ed) Morrison, and Cindy Rexroat.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane) and will continue on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, after 8:30 a.m. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
