Betty Lynn Callahan

Betty Lynn Hopewell Callahan passed peacefully at Hosparus Health Louisville on Friday, February 26, 2021. Born Betty Lynn Hopewell in Louisville on January 3, 1932 to late Charles Eugene Hopewell and Eva Melvina (Griffin) Hopewell, Betty was the 9th of 10 children that Charles and Eva would have. Betty grew up in the Highland Park neighborhood and told wonderful stories of the neighborhood and her youth. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul G. Callahan, brother Charles Wesley Hopewell and sisters Marie Walsh, Alean Shulthise, Helen Moore, Clara Mueninghoff, Mathis Hendricks, Marjorie Gagel, Nancy Mannel, and Wilma Curry.

Betty is survived by her son, Pat (Sharon), grandchildren Kenny, Alison, Christen, Madeline great-grandchildren Matthew, Eli, Lydia, Paul, and many nieces and nephews who will always remember her as Aunt Betty.

A private funeral service will be held with burial at Zachary Taylor National cemetery.

A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.
