Bettie Lou (Embry) Stepro

Bettie Lou (Embry) Stepro, 84, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018. She worked for over 20 years at the Laborer's Union in New Albany. Bettie enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, and, more than anything else, spoiling her grandsons.

She was born on March 30, 1934, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, to the late Barney and Mattie (Nance) Embry. Bettie was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur "Jake" Stepro; sister, Moray Embry; and sisters-in-law, Reba and Alma Jean Embry.

Bettie is survived by her son, Kevin Stepro (Britoni); brothers, Gene Embry and Roger Embry (Marilyn); grandsons, Jake and Austin Stepro; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 9:00 a.m. Her Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Mauckport, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bettie's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105).
