Bertha "Emalee" (Harpe) Johnson, 92, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017, in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on December 17, 1924, in Stephensport, Kentucky, to James and Alice Harpe. Bertha was a great caregiver to her family for many years, a member of Ladies Auxillary VFW Post 1693, and former member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Along with her parents, Emalee was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Russell Rogge, Donald Leland Owen, and Elvin Wayne Johnson; her son, Arthur Russell "Rusty" Rogge, Jr.; her siblings, Omer, Lee, Joe, Estel, Elmer, Mary Adams, and Julie Boles.
She is survived by her loving sons, Mike Owen (Mary Annette Biszmaier) and Ron Johnson; four grandchildren, Tina Rogge, Melisa Wyatt, Alex Johnson, and Jeremy Owen; and 6 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Jackson, Sara, CJ, Tyler, and Abby.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, and 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
