Bertha Angeline Fries, 95, of The Pines, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home with Major Brian Burkett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home.
Angeline was born June 17, 1922 in Devil's Lake, North Dakota to the late David Wallace and Sarah (Simon) Shipley.
On July 25, 1942 in Michigan City she married William R. Fries who passed away on September 1, 1978.
Surviving are nine children, Patsy Pilarski of Michigan City, Gloria (Ray) Cruise of Arkansas, William (Brenda) Fries of Illinois, Pamela Adams of Maine, Diana (William) Kappel of Kentucky, James (Kathy) Fries of North Carolina, Linda (Robert) Shadders of New York, Daniel (Patty) Fries of Michigan City and Gregory (Christine) Fries of Michigan; thirty-nine grandchildren; and numerous great-great and great-great-great grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws, Judy Fries and Deanna Fries and one son-in-law, Dan Ford.
She is preceded in death by one son, Kevin Fries and One daughter Frances Ford; Daughter-In-Law, Kathy Fries and Son-In-Law, Ron Pilarski and eleven siblings.
Angeline retired from Hooks Drugs Store after many years of service.
She was a member and volunteered many hours at the Salvation Army in Michigan City. She was a member of the Michigan City Senior Center where she loved to play game and spend time with her friends. Her great joy was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
