Bernice Bratton, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018.
She was born on June 2, 1933 in Greensboro, North Carolina to the late Edward and Maggie Bratton. She was also preceded in death by her Significant Other, John Wharton, Sisters, Elizabeth Franklin, Annie Mildred Stancil, Louise M. Jackson, Barbara E. Bratton, and Carolyn L. Kurvin, and Brothers, James and Cornell Bratton.
Bernice is survived by her Daughters, Ianthia Denise Broughton and Toni Malone, Sons, Jackie L. Wharton, and Darrell M. Bratton, Granddaughters, Lashonda T. Wharton, Laquisha D. Wharton, Denisha Oggs, Teandra D. Coleman, Jaqu'e L. Wharton, and India D. Bratton, Grandsons, Tyrone O. Wharton. Jonivon Oggs, Courtney D. Peden, and Isaiah J. Bratton, Great-Grandchildren, Jammerison T. Wharton, Jazzmine T. Wharton, Demetrius C. Dailey, Savion J. Dailey, Jamia T. Wharton, Amare Dailey, Aniah Coleman, Ja'zarreyah Sheckles, Ja'rayah Smith, Ja'meyah Smith, Ava Coleman, Ja'liyah Smith, Kayden A. Wharton, Kamden T. Wharton, and Kamya D. Wharton, and her Sister, Ethel Johnson.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
