Bernard H. "Ben" Borgelt, Jr., 67, of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He retired as a Captain of the Louisville Fire Department after 25 years of service. Ben had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid fisher, but his greatest love of all was spending time with his grandchildren.
He was born on November 18, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Bernard and Marcille (Baldauf) Borgelt. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Leroy Borgelt.
Ben is survived by his loving daughters, Mindy (Bill) Wibbels and Samantha (Greg) Sember; grandchildren, Benjamin, Ellie, and Megan Wibbels and Maxwell and Thomas Sember; siblings, George (Laura) Borgelt, Lynette Borgelt, Diana (Roger) Faith, Julie (Steve) Miller, Debra Doyle, and Jeannie (Ron) Craig.
Cremation was chosen following Ben's wishes. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) was entrusted with his care.
