Benny "Ben" Lee Wilkins, 67 of Louisville, Kentucky.
Ben passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
Ben was a Son, a Husband, a Dad, a Brother, a Cousin, a Grandfather, a Business man, and to so many – A Friend!
An Entrapanuer and Leader at heart, he worked in everything from topsoil and tractors to whole sale automotives and car lots! Very motivated and hard working, he was often known as a 'workaholic,' especially in his younger days! He loved to feel productive in whatever he was doing, with a burning sense of independence not everyone can relate to. He had a sense of humor and a handsome grin! He gave cash to the homeless and never met a dog he didn't adore! If he could help someone, he did! A favorite motto of his was," You won't succeed if you quit."
Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Lucille Slayton Hall and Robert Hall, his sister, Anita Wilkins Nevitt (John Nevitt), and his brother, Phillip Wayne Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa G. Wilkins; daughters, Anne M. Wilkins and Dawn M. Wilkins; sons, James Louden, Mark Louden, and Michael Louden; sisters, Elena Gayle Lile, and Patricia Wilkins Reynolds (Claude Reynolds); and five grandchildren.
Ben's new mission takes him to a place where he will be fishing in various bodies of beautiful water, enjoying the peacefulness of the day. As the day ends, he will stop by the garage and piddle around on a car or two that he's fixing up to sell. He'll then settle in for some classic Western movie time as he dozes off into a nap, until the next peaceful day arrives……
In loving memory of Ben, a memorial visitation will be held on Monday, August 21 from 2pm – 8pm, with the service begining at 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Kentucky Humane Society or the American Heart Association, in Ben's name (Thank you).
