Benny Larnell Val Spratley, Jr., 54, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. He was born on May 23, 1965 to the late Benny Spratley, Sr and Maureen Spratley (Williams). Growing up in the California neighborhood of Louisville, Benny attended Jefferson County Public Schools. He
was an active member of the Ormsby Boy's Club where he developed many life-long friendships. As a young boy, Benny developed a love for race cars and motorcycles, due mostly to his attachment to his late, Uncle, Jimmy Henderson (Hindu). His passion for cars led him to become a trusted, ASE Certified Auto Technician. He prided himself on being a mobile mechanic, "Locked and Loaded, with DEM tools!" (Only after breakfast at Dizzy Whizz, of course!) Benny was a dedicated member of the Kentuckiana Gunslingers, Motorcycle Club, Louisville, KY. He served as Road Captain and earned the name "Lightning" because he was fast! (and nobody wanted to be on the highway with him.)
Benny was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Heavenly Lashae Woolridge and brother, Vincent Spratley.
He is survived by his children, Shirelle Woolridge, Benny Tyler, Christy Tyler, Bryan Tyler, Shaquila Spratley, Breyonia Spratley, and Bianca Spratley and his grandchildren, Garion Morris, Keevion Bowman, Christian Tyler, Benny Tyler, Jr., Johnnie Wright, Jr., Mariah Tyler and Dylan Jackson, Jr., his brothers, Thomas 'TOM KAT' Spratley (DeLisa), Mark Spratley and Eric Irvin, his sisters, Angela (Kelly) Buckner and Shunita (Nicky) Fisher, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A service to celebrate Benny's life will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Newcomer Southwest Chapel. The family will accept guests for visitation at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
