Beatrice Duff Wooley

July 23, 1937 — February 13, 2021

Evangelist Beatrice Duff Wooley, age 83, formerly of Bishop, WV was called home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2021 at her home in Louisville, KY. She was born July 23, 1937 in Yukon, WV to the late Dewey and Ida Duff, Sr.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel L. Wooley, her brothers Bill Duff, Dewey Duff Jr., James Duff, her sisters Maxine Duff, Bettye Hawkins and two sons, Ray Wooley and Willie Howard.

Mother Wooley, Momma Bea, or Nanna as she was so affectionately called was a true child and ambassador of God. God used her to lead numerous souls to Him. Every conversation she had with others would always lead to Jesus. She would often tell others, "if you are not talking about Jesus, you're not talking about nothing".

She was a 1955 graduate of Excelsior High School in War, WV. She was also a devoted employee of The Counsel of Southern Mountain Head Start Program for 50 years where she worked in various positions, such as Head Start bus driver, custodian, kitchen helper, food taster and Foster Grandparent program.

She accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior on May 9, 1971. She received her Doctor of Bible Knowledge from the United Christian Institute in Cleveland, TN. She was a member of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Bishop, WV and upon moving to Louisville, KY she joined Christ Cathedral of Praise, were she continued to spread the gospel and love of our Lord and Savior.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Nathaniel Wooley (Sherri) of Hinton, WV; Patricia Wooley of Louisville, KY; Barbette Wooley (Robert) of Prospect, KY; Travis Wooley (Brenda) of Tazewell, VA; Alma Wooley of Louisville, KY; Nawana Baker (Kris) of Louisville, KY; Danielle Gaines of Georgetown, IN; India Chatman of Waukegan, IL; Carl Washington of Birmingham, AL and a special daughter Debra Ruth Wooley of Bluefield, WV. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was loved and respected by numerous others to include Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Christ Cathedral of Praise, a host of nieces, nephews, students, friends, and saints.

Funeral Services will be with Peery and St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA and Mrs. Wooley will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, WV.
