Bartie M. Kincaid (Becker), 81, a longtime resident of Middletown, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016.
She was born to Vernon William Becker, Sr. and Margaret Louise (Pryor) Becker.
Bartie was a 2nd generation graduate from the nursing school at St. Anthony Hospital (class of '55) and lived her life caring for others, first as a surgical nurse and later serving the residents of St. Matthews Manor nursing home. Even after her retirement, Bartie continued to care for her most important "patients" – her family, dear friends, and rescued animals.
Bartie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 51 years, Gene Kincaid.
She is survived by her sons, William (Joanne) and Jack (Dorease Shairrick) Kincaid; granddaughters, Megean and Jessica Kincaid; sister, Verna Lee Becker Clark; brother, Vernon "Sonny" William Becker, Jr. (Mable); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3-8pm Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of Bartie's life will be 11am Wednesday, February 10th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to WHAS Crusade for Children or the Orphan Annie Animal Rescue.
