Barry Wayne Crabtree, 67, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019. Barry was a Christian by faith and retired from Corhart Refractories and was currently employed by the New Albany Police Department. He loved to hang out in his garage with family and friends, and cooking out and watching college basketball. Showing and restoring street rods was his passion. He loved his annual fishing trips to Alabama. His greatest joy was the love he had for his family and helping anyone he could.
He was born on July 29, 1951, in Daviess County, Kentucky, to the late Morgan and Mildred (Ranburger) Crabtree. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eric R. Crabtree; and brothers, Anthony and Kevin Crabtree.
Barry is survived by his sons, Travis L., Sr., (Amme) and Patrick B. Crabtree; brothers, Richard (Sandy), William (Carolyn), Robert (Peggy), John, and Steven (Cindy) Crabtree; grandchildren, Destiny, Elexus, Zachery, Bethanie, and Travis Crabtree, Jr.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Barry's wishes.
The family requests that contributions in Barry's memory be made to Amedisys Hospice or the American Heart and Lung Association.
