Barry Christopher Oppedahl

Barry Christopher "Bear" Oppedahl, age 50 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bear was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved the outdoors. He loved his family and friends dearly. He never complained no matter how much pain he endured. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie Oppedahl, and Violet and Albert Ahrens.

Bear is survived by his loving family, his father, Charles L. Oppedahl; mother, Joy True; his second mom, Jackie Oppedahl; daughter, Brittany Brown (Glenn); brothers, Michael "Butch" Oppedahl (Marie) and Patrick John "PJ" Oppedahl (Dawn), Mark (Cheri), Mike (Lavonne) and Monte Keith (Meredith); sisters, Myste Barnett (Bryan) and Kristie Crosier (Pat); many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1pm Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8pm Friday, November 13th and 11-1pm Saturday, November 14th at the funeral home. Jeans and boots will be the preferred dress code.

The family would like to acknowledge the physicians and staff at Baptist Hospital East for their excellent care of Bear.
