Barbara Ann Short

Barbara Ann Short, 78, of Louisville, KY passed away on December 10, 2018. Barbara's family meant the world to her. She extremely enjoyed going to her hometown of Harlan, KY, attending church and cooking for the families. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, camping and canning foods out of her garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Eula Sykes and siblings, Arthur Sykes and Nancy Perkins.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles F. Short, Sr.; children, Charles F. (Traci) Short, Jr., Michael Short, Karen (Terry) Gibson and Sharon Weber; grandchildren, Charles F. Short, III, Sharon Lynn Short, Ryan Gibson, Kevin Short, Kristen Short, Trevor Gibson, Kali Thompson, John Kinney and Kelsi Mercer; great-grandchildren, Alina Short, Noah Short and Lyrah Short and sister, Norma Unthank. She also leaves behind her faithful companion, Suzy Q.

Visitation will be Friday, December 14, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 3pm-8pm. A celebration of Barbara's life will be Saturday, December 15, 2018 beginning at 1pm with visitation prior to the service from 10am until 1pm.

Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, beginning at 1:30pm.
